Before you buy ads, walk through your own website.

A practical check of the route from first visit to first inquiry.

Start with a customer’s question

Imagine someone has just heard about your business. They open your website on their phone. Can they quickly tell what you do, who you help, and where you work? If they have to decode a clever headline before finding the basics, rewrite the headline first. A useful opening can be as simple as your service, your neighborhood, and a clear next step.

Pick one main next step

A restaurant might want an order or a reservation. A contractor might need a request for an estimate. A salon might want a booking. Choose the action that fits the page and make it easy to find. You can still offer alternatives, but avoid asking visitors to choose between six equally prominent buttons before they understand the business.

Follow the route all the way through

Tap the button yourself. Does the booking link open the correct service? Does the phone link use the current number? Does the inquiry form make clear what happens after it is sent? A polished landing page cannot compensate for a broken or confusing next step. Try the journey with someone who has never used the site and watch where they hesitate.

Answer the questions that hold people back

Write down the questions customers ask before they commit: service area, availability, what is included, what to bring, or how estimates work. Put the most useful answers near the action. If you cannot publish a fixed price, explain how the quote is determined rather than leaving the visitor wondering whether the service is relevant to them.

Decide what you want to learn

Before adding paid traffic, choose the customer action you want to observe. Keep a simple record of inquiries and whether they were a good fit. An increase in visits is useful context, but the question for your business is what happens after the visit. Start with one offer and one clear journey so you can make a focused improvement.

Your next move

Open your homepage on your phone. Find one confusing sentence, one missing answer, and one unnecessary step. Fix those before expanding the campaign. This is a starting exercise, not a prediction of advertising results.
